Price distribution
Price and capacity
The 472 vacuum lifters from Chinese brands face nine models from the Israeli brand GRABO. The comparison is particularly revealing because both sides have their tools made in China. The differences therefore lie not in the place of production but in the product range.
Prices
The median price is €66 for Chinese brands and €266 for GRABO, roughly four times as much. The averages are €84 versus €286. Chinese units cost €12 to €472, GRABO models €72 to €500. Even the cheapest GRABO listing is above the Chinese median.
Load capacity and features
Chinese models carry a median of 200 kg, up to 500 kg, and achieve 337 kg of load capacity per €100. At GRABO, only the Grabo H states a load capacity: 170 kg for €226, which is 75 kg per €100.
GRABO sets clear priorities in its features. All nine models are electric and oval, while among Chinese brands 94% of units are electric and 51% oval. An automatic re-pump is found on 67% of GRABO electric units versus 27% in China, and a removable battery likewise on 67% versus 42%. GRABO does not offer USB-C, while Chinese brands do on 14%. Digital displays are similarly common (56% versus 66%). Foam seals appear on 33% of GRABO models and on 13% in China. A vibration function is only available from Chinese brands.
Manufacturing
471 of the 472 Chinese listings and all nine GRABO listings state China as the country of manufacture.
Verdict
For maximum load capacity per euro, there is no getting around Chinese brands. GRABO is aimed at users who want an oval vacuum lifter, often called a gripster in the trades, with a removable battery and automatic re-pump and who accept a considerably higher price for it.
