What to look for

• Diameter to match the format: With 119 models, 8 inches (roughly 200 mm) is the most common size. The suction pad must sit fully on the workpiece; narrow strips are often better served by an oval model.
• Smooth surfaces: The rubber seal holds best on glazed tiles, glass and polished stone. For textured surfaces, the comparison Rubber vs. foam is worth a look.
• Drive: Round gripsters come in battery and pump versions. What that means in everyday use is shown in Electric vs. manual.
• Vacuum check: Before every lift, check the display or the marking on the pump plunger.
• Top values: The strongest round models are listed in the ranking Strongest round vacuum lifters.
