Identical vacuum lifters: one device, many names

Many vacuum grippers exist several times over: technically identical, but under different names, in a different color and at markedly different prices. This overview combines such devices into groups and shows, for each group, what the same hardware costs.

Why the same device has many names

Of the vacuum grippers in the database, 95% are made in China, often in a handful of factories that supply one base model to numerous sellers. They sell it with their own logo, their own housing color or their own packaging, sometimes as a branded product, sometimes with no name at all. On top of that come different package contents: the same device on its own, in a twin pack, with or without a case and second battery. This gives buyers the impression of a wide choice, even though many offers conceal the same tool.

How the groups are formed

Listings count as identical when their hardware matches. The comparison covers the housing and construction, the shape and size of the suction pad, the seal, the display, the battery system and technical specifications such as load capacity and battery capacity. Differences in logo, color or package contents do not change which group a device belongs to. A group is formed as soon as at least two listings show the same hardware. How to use the price ranges

Each group shows the price per unit from the cheapest to the most expensive offer. For twin packs, the pack price is divided by the number of gripsters so that single and multi-unit offers can be compared.

• Check before you buy: If the device you want belongs to a group, you can see at once whether the same technology is available for less.
• Compare package contents: A higher price can be justified by a second battery, a case or a second device. The differences are shown in Single vs. twin pack.
• Assess the brand: Whether a brand name adds value when the hardware is identical, for example when it comes to spare parts, is shown in Branded vs. unbranded.
