Price distribution
Price and capacity
Chinese brands account for 472 vacuum grippers in the database, brands from the USA for ten. The comparison shows two very different ranges: on one side a large selection of affordable cordless units, on the other a small field with many hand-pump models.
Prices
The median price is €66 for Chinese brands and €122 for US brands. The averages are €84 versus €133. The range in China runs from €12 to €472, among US brands from €31 to €258. The cheapest US model, an electric gripster from Master Depot for €31, is therefore well below the Chinese median.
Load capacity and features
Chinese models carry a median of 200 kg, US models 120 kg, and the maximum is 500 versus 150 kg. For every €100 of purchase price, you get a median of 337 kg of load capacity from Chinese brands and 148 kg from US brands.
China leads on electrification and displays: 94% of models are electric and 66% have a digital display. Among US brands the figures are 60% and 30%, with the remaining 40% working with a hand pump. Among electric units, however, US models more often have USB-C (33% versus 14%) and an automatic re-pump (50% versus 27%). Only Chinese brands offer a vibration function, on 4% of models. Round suction pads make up 80% among US brands and 38% among Chinese ones.
Manufacturing
471 of the 472 Chinese listings are made in China. Among US brands, four listings name the USA and three name China as the country of manufacture, while three give no information.
Verdict
If you are after plenty of load capacity for little money, Chinese brands are the right choice: there, a vacuum lifter, often called a gripster in the trades, costs just over half as much by median. US brands are a fit if you are looking for a manual vacuum gripper without a battery or a unit made in the USA. You will find all the details on the pages for China and the USA, and the background on both drive types under Electric vs. manual.
