Among the battery-powered units, 36% have a removable battery, 34% a built-in battery, 15% charge via USB-C and 31% re-pump automatically. 69% have a digital display. 89% use a rubber seal, which seals particularly reliably on glass. 52% are oval and 41% round, and 11% of the listings are twin packs.

What to look for

• Protect the edges: Glass breaks mainly at the edges. Carry panes upright, wear gloves and avoid knocking the edges. More in Transporting glass panes safely.
• Clean pane: Grease, water or film residue reduce adhesion. Clean the contact area before lifting.
• Watch for coatings: On coated or printed glass, attach the vacuum gripper to the uncoated side whenever possible.
• Two hands, two units: Carry large panes with two gripsters, see Single vs. twin pack.
