Taskstar gripsters

Taskstar is one of the many brands offering vacuum grippers from Chinese mass production. The brand is represented in the comparison with 3 models: one manual gripster and two cordless units. All three are closely priced.

Model range

1 model is round, 2 are oval. The round hand pump vacuum lifter with an 8-inch suction plate, a gauge for monitoring the vacuum and a carrying case costs €47 and is sold for tiles, glass and granite.

The two oval models have a 25 cm long suction pad, an LCD display and four 3,000 mAh batteries. The set of two with both vacuum lifters in a case works out at €55 per unit, and the second offer with four removable batteries and a carrying case also costs €55 and is rated at 250 kg.

Prices and load capacity

Prices range from €47 to €55, with a median of €55, below the €68 median across all 519 offers. The data list a load capacity only for the oval cordless model: 250 kg.

Features

2 of the 3 models are electric and run on removable batteries, and the third is a manual vacuum gripper with a hand pump. No offer mentions USB-C charging. The two cordless units have an LCD display, the hand pump model a vacuum gauge. All seals are rubber, and none of the units offers a vibration function.

Who are these lifters for?

The oval cordless models suit tile setters and DIYers who move large formats or patio slabs as a team, and the set provides two units for this, see also Twin packs and sets. The hand pump model is a battery-free solution for occasional work on tiles, glass and granite. The comparison Electric vs. manual shows the pros and cons of both drive types. With any vacuum lifter, often called a gripster in the trade, the rule applies: check the gauge or display before lifting, clean the surface and set the load down immediately if the vacuum weakens.
