Vacuum grippers with a built-in battery

With a built-in battery, the power source sits permanently in the handle, and you charge it directly on the unit. The database lists 151 such vacuum lifters, also called gripsters in the trade, with prices per unit from €20 to €349 and a typical value of €69. Typical load capacity is 200 kg, with the highest rating at 300 kg; per €100 you typically get 304 kg. At a typical 4,000 mAh, these models state higher capacities than units with a removable battery (2,400 mAh), although mAh figures are only comparable at the same voltage. 40% charge via USB-C. The features are extensive: 85% have a digital display and 32% automatic re-pump. 61% are oval and 34% round.

What to look for

• Charging port: USB-C is universal, while a proprietary barrel connector ties you to the supplied power adapter. Check the port before you buy.
• Allow for charging time: The vacuum lifter cannot be used while it is charging. For continuous use, a removable battery is more flexible.
• Service life: The battery ages with the unit. During longer storage, recharge it regularly so it does not become deeply discharged.
• Comparing the systems: The differences are shown in Removable battery vs. USB-C, and the basics are explained in Battery and charging.
