Italy and Spain are each represented in the database by four vacuum lifters: Montolit and Battipav on one side, Rubi on the other. With the same number of models, the offerings differ markedly in price, drive and manufacturing.

Prices

Italian brands cost a median of €138, Rubi €96. On average the gap is even wider: €152 versus €82. The range runs from €52 to €278 in Italy and from €34 to €103 at Rubi. Three of the four Rubi models cost between €95 and €103, while the Italian listings are spread across €52, €81, €195 and €278.

Load capacity and features

Among Italian brands, only the Montolit Geco states a load capacity, 125 kg for €195. Rubi models carry 70 to 150 kg, with a median of 140 kg. Per €100 of purchase price, the figures are 64 kg for Italy and 147 kg for Rubi.

The two differ clearly in drive: all Rubi models are electric, compared with half among Italian brands, where the other two work manually. Rubi charges via USB-C on 75% of its models and shows the vacuum digitally just as often. None of the Italian listings states USB-C or a digital display, but the Montolit hand-pump vacuum lifter has a vacuum gauge instead. Only the Montolit GECONE offers a removable battery, and only one Rubi model has an automatic re-pump. What both sides share is a rubber seal on every model and a 75% share of round suction pads.

Manufacturing

Three of the four Italian listings state Italy as the country of manufacture. At Rubi, one of the four listings names China, and the rest give no information.

Verdict

Rubi is the cheaper choice and offers more load capacity per euro as well as modern charging technology. Italian brands appeal to users looking for a manual gripster or for manufacturing in the brand's home country. The differences between the drive types are explained in Electric vs. manual.
