Price distribution
GRABO from Israel and the Italian brands Montolit and Battipav are the two most expensive origins in the database. Nine Israeli models meet four Italian ones. When it comes to the place of manufacture, they could hardly be more different.
Prices
GRABO costs a median of €266, Italian brands €138. The averages are €286 versus €152. The range runs from €72 to €500 at GRABO and from €52 to €278 among Italian brands. Both sides are far above the median of Chinese brands, €66.
Load capacity and features
On each side, only one model states a load capacity: the Grabo H with 170 kg for €226 and the Montolit Geco with 125 kg for €195. That gives 75 and 64 kg per €100 of purchase price, the two lowest figures of all countries of origin.
All GRABO models are electric, compared with half among Italian brands, where the rest work manually. A removable battery is found on 67% of GRABO electric units and on one of the two Italian ones. Only GRABO offers an automatic re-pump, on two thirds of its models, and likewise a digital display (56%). A pressure gauge appears on both sides: on two GRABO models and on the Montolit hand-pump vacuum lifter. All GRABO models are oval, while three of four Italian models are round. Only GRABO has foam seals, on a third of its models, while Italian brands rely exclusively on rubber.
Manufacturing
This is where the clearest difference lies: all nine GRABO listings state China as the country of manufacture, while three of the four Italian listings state Italy.
Verdict
GRABO offers the more extensive cordless range with automatic re-pump and digital display. Italian brands are cheaper by median, offer manual models without a battery and are mostly made in Italy. If you are looking for a vacuum lifter, often called a gripster in the trades, above €200, you will find more models under Over €200. More on both sides: Israel and Italy.
