What to look for

• Minimum workpiece size: The suction pad needs a flat surface a good 20 cm wide. For narrower parts, an oval or narrow design is a better fit.
• All-rounder for tiles and glass: The 8-inch gripster suits most tiles with an edge length of 30 cm or more, as well as glass panes.
• Spare seal: With such a common size, it is worth checking whether the seller stocks a matching spare seal.
• Weigh up the size: Whether a larger pad is worth it is covered in 8 inch vs. 10 inch. The strongest models are listed in Strongest round gripsters.
