Multi-cup vacuum lifters, a variant of the classic gripster, carry several suction pads on a shared handle or frame and so spread the load over a larger area. The database lists three models of this design. Their prices per unit range from €13 to €174, with a typical value of €20. All three work manually with a lever mechanism, with no battery at all, and all use rubber suction pads. The rated load capacity is 200 kg; the aluminum model rated at 200 kg for €20 thus works out to 1,000 kg per €100. None of the units has a vacuum gauge, and all are sold without a brand name.

What to look for

  • Flat, smooth surfaces: Every single pad needs full contact. This works most reliably on glass, glazed tiles and coated panels.
  • Checking without a gauge: Since there is no vacuum gauge, check the grip before lifting by pulling lightly on each pad.
  • Spread the load: Position the handle centrally so all pads carry an equal share.
  • Alternatives for heavy slabs: For large formats, twin packs or carrying systems are often the better choice, see Vacuum lifter, panel carrier or carrying strap? and Manual gripsters.
